Sports Therapy
Sports Therapy looks to assess and treat common musculo-skeletal problems and injuries that can arise due to physical trauma. It aims to treat pain and injuries, assist in rehabilitation and help people return to full fitness by using a combination of techniques including; sports massge, myofascial release, mobilisations, soft tissue release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques & neuromuscular techniques. Sports therapy also helps encourage injury prevention.
It is not only for injured athletes, it is a treatment method for all with common muscular complaints such as mobility problems, back ache and postural problems.
Advanced Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a technique used to release restricted fascia in the body (connective tissue). This is a highly effective technique to shape muscles into their correct position in order to improving posture and allow the muscle to function correctly and more effectively.
Sports Massage
Sports massage involves the manipulation of soft tissues in order to alleviate stress and breakdown tension that has built up within the muscles. It is commonly used to help prevent injury and niggles within the body, to help enhance performance and to aid recovery. Sports massage can also be used at events to prepare the body for and to assist in recovery from exercise.
Acupuncture
Medical Acupuncture (or Dry Needling)
is an adaption from traditional Chinese Acupuncture, but rather than using meridian lines it focuses on the bodies muscular anatomy. It involves inserting fine needles into muscular trigger points or areas of tension in order to relieve pain, reduce muscle spasm and to speed up recovery.
Medical acupuncture is used alongside other sports therapy treatments.
Exercise Therapy
Exercise therapy uses stretches, exercises and movements to help improve the way the body moves. It looks specifically at improving postural alignment and increasing strength, mobility and stability in the muscles in order to produce more functional movements.
